
A Life of Service and Entrepreneurship: The Journey of William Kaguma.
William Kaguma is a man of many accomplishments, blending a rich family life with a distinguished career in business and Rotary service. Married to Ann Beth Kaguma, a prominent figure as a Major Donor and Past President of the Inner Wheel Club of Kampala, William finds pride in his family of five: three accomplished sons—Antony Agumisiriza PHF+1, currently a Project Manager at Arup Group in the UK; Alvis Aineomugisha PHF+1, pursuing his first year of Law studies; and Asher Atuhumuza PHF+2, currently in S4 at Kings College Budo and serving as Club Secretary Interact—along with his resilient 93-year-old mother, Margret Manyenye, and six supportive siblings.
William’s academic journey reflects his commitment to continuous learning: he holds an Executive MBA from ESAMI/Maastricht and a Bachelor of Commerce from Makerere University, complemented by various certifications in computer science, leadership, and capital markets.
His Rotary journey is a testament to his dedication to service leadership. At the club level, William has held pivotal roles such as Vice President, Secretary (CEO), Administrator, TRF Director, Treasurer, and Project Director, where he spearheaded notable initiatives like the Omukabare project.
Beyond the club, William’s impact extends to the district and international levels. He served as Chief Sergeant at Arms at the Mbarara Discon and TRF Coordinator during the governorships of PDG Ken Mugisha and PDG Mike Sebalu. Internationally, he held roles like Chief Sergeant at Arms at the Africana Zone Institute in Uganda and Sergeant at Arms at the Rotary Convention in Germany.
William’s career spans diverse sectors. After retiring from public office in 2006, he ventured into entrepreneurship, founding Kaaba Investments Ltd in Kenya, which specializes in logistics services. His agricultural ventures include commercial banana farming in Mbarara and dairy farming in Gayaza, Kampala. His previous roles at Uganda Railways Corporation and the Ministry of Commerce & Trade underscore his expertise in transportation and trade facilitation.
William’s leadership extends beyond business and Rotary; he also served on committees overseeing the Northern Corridor Transit & Transport Coordination Authority, aiming to enhance transport logistics across East Africa.
As Charter President of the ESAMI Alumni Uganda Chapter, William remains committed to fostering educational and professional networks.
